I don't know if this will sell out like NIPS, but Fei Sha gave me a code for colleagues and friends. Feel free to forward to 4eyes members, and register using this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ <https://www.eventbrite.com/e/socal-machine-learning-symposium-2017-tickets-36940356601> socal-machine-learning-symposium-2017-tickets-36940356601 and use the code "socalml at usc".

Note that the registration opens tomorrow (well, it was supposed to open today, but hopefully it will tomorrow), and will probably fill up pretty fast given that they will only accept 100 people or so.

FYI – some of you might be interested in attending this machine learning symposium in LA.

Dear colleagues and friends,

This is a preliminary call for participation and submission for the Southern California Machine Learning Symposium, on Friday Oct 6th, 2017.

The SoCal ML Symposium brings together students and faculty to promote machine learning in the Southern California region. It has started to grow into a premier venue for researchers in machine learning and artificial intelligence to gather, to interact, and to exchange. While we are finalizing the schedule, the website is up with several pieces of key information: <https://sites.google.com/view/socalml17/home> https://sites.google.com/view/socalml17/home

This year, University of Southern California (USC) is hosting it at its University Park Campus near downtown Los Angeles.

We sincerely hope you (and your postdocs, students) will be able to join this event. The registration for this one-day event is free (albeit capped at ~250 to maintain a low-cost), which includes breakfast, coffee breaks, and lunches.

Please feel free to forward this message to those who might be interested. If you have questions, please contact us at <mailto:socalml-organizers at googlegroups.com> socalml-organizers at googlegroups.com

Best regards

Fei Sha (USC) and Yan Liu (USC)
