EoYS 2016: REVISED CALL for Submissions - Extending Deadline - Next Tuesday, March 29th at 11:59 pm

The call for submissions for the End of the Year Show (EoYS) 2016 is extended until next Tuesday, March 29th at 11:59 pm. Thank you to all the artists that have submitted their work already.
If you have not submitted yet, please consider participating in the EoYS 2016 with your work, completed or in progress.
In addition to proposals for exhibition or performance, we will also be accepting original written content for publication in an accompanying catalogue to the show. We welcome submissions in a variety of forms. All authors retain the copyright to material they publish in the MAT EoYS, but the MAT Graduate Program: EoYS can not re-publish material that has previously been published elsewhere and does not accept papers that are simultaneously submitted to other journals. Text Submission Guidelines:
All pagination will be dependent on dialogue between contributor and editorial team. General request is for written submissions between 250 to 2000 words. The EoYS submission guidelines include but are not limited to:
Artist Statements between 100 - 150 words
Abstracts between 150 - 250 words
Project Descriptions between 250 - 500 words
Original Poetry/Creative Writing between 500 - 750 words
Extended Project Write Ups (Analysis) between 750 - 1000 words
Essays between 750 - 1500 words
Interviews between 1500 - 2000 words
Articles & Critical Essays between 1500 - 2000 words
Extended Journal Essays between 2000 - 3000 words
Important:
The editing team will be contacting every author of written work during the review process. All contributors will accept the editing process and timeline deadlines before submissions are finalized to go to press.
Style Guide:
All submissions are required to be formatted in accordance with The Chicago Manual of Style, 16th ed. All entries should include a brief abstract and biographical statement in a separate attachment.

Graphics Guide: Required for all line art, graphs, charts, drawings, tables and photographs (color or b&w).
All graphics will be required to be at 600 dpi tiff files at the actual print size. All cropping should remove all unnecessary white space around image with no borders. The Image orientation should be the same as intended for publication.
Important: (The Annual dimensions are 7 in. x 10 in.)
Required file formats must be submitted electronically in Encapsulated Postscript (EPS), Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) & Portable Document Format (PDF). The editing team will be contacting every author during the graphics review process. All contributors will accept the graphics review process and timeline deadlines before submissions are finalized to go to press.
Rights and Permissions:
Authors are responsible for obtaining permissions for all images or copyrighted material prior to publication. All authors are required to provide a permissions letter along with the submission. All authors retain rights to their work and may publish it elsewhere after it has appeared in the EoYS.
Readability:
The Annual EoYS covers a wide range of academic disciplines. All contributions should therefore be written clearly and concisely, particularly specialized terms.
The Theme for EoYS 2016 is “White Noise.”

This year’s EOYS 2016 will be an opportunity to display, to publish and to engage with the MAT community.
All first year students are encouraged to meet with your advisor and committee members to help guide your submission(s). All students can submit as an individual artist and/or as part of a collaborative team. You may want to consider registering for MAT courses in the Spring Quarter that will help facilitate inspired works.

Professor Marko Peljhan will be offering MAT 294CR a course for credit around the EoYS 2016. This is a great opportunity. All first year students and students new to the EoYS exhibition process are encouraged to sign up!
