EOYS 2016: Call for Submissions Announcement
Date: 02.29.2016
*Happy Leap Day!*
The call for submissions for the End of the Year Show (EOYS) 2016 starts
today, February 29th, and will continue through March 21st at 11:59 pm.
The theme of this year’s show is “White Noise.” We invite you to
interpret the theme, use it as inspiration, or make your own creative *leap*.
Please submit your work, completed or in progress, the earlier the better
for planning and designing the event media.
In addition to proposals for exhibition or performance, we will also be
accepting original written content for publication in an accompanying
catalogue to the show. We welcome submissions in a variety of forms,
including journal articles, essays, and extended project write-ups. More
detailed guidelines and templates will be forthcoming.
This year’s EOYS 2016 will be a remarkable opportunity to display, publish
and to engage with your colleagues in an exciting exhibition event.
It is encouraged that you meet with your advisor and committee members to
help guide your submission(s). All students can submit as individual
artist and/or as part of a collaborative team. You may want to consider
registering for MAT courses in the Spring Quarter that will help facilitate
inspired works. Please consult with Professor Marko Peljhan for further
guidance on MAT course selection for Spring 2016.
Reminder the *final deadline* for all proposals is *Monday, March 21, 2016
at 11:59 pm*.
The project submission site is now up at <
http://eoys-submissions.mat.ucsb.edu>. Please visit the submission website
this week to verify that your individual accounts are in working order. You
should be able to sign in with your UCSB netid and password. If you have
any difficulty, please contact Larry Zins @ larry at mat.ucsb.edu. This site
is also linked to the public website for the EOYS 2016 event. Once all
projects are approved, they will immediately appear online.
Important:
All projects to be proposed for the AlloSphere are required to be reviewed
by Dr. JoAnn Kuchera-Morin before submittal.
We are still looking for volunteers for EOYS 2016. If you are interested,
please contact one of the EOYS team members.
We look forward to the collaboration of the entire MAT community to help
make this year’s EOYS 2016 event successful.
As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Good
luck on finals!
