Subject: [Cnsi-bldg-occupants] Assistance Requested
To: CNSI Occupants <cnsi-bldg-occupants at admin3.cnsi.ucsb.edu>
Hello Elings Hall occupants and users.
We would like to alert you to a situation that occurred yesterday in the
late afternoon and ask for your assistance.
An adult Caucasian female, approximately 5’5” with medium length brown
hair, walked through the first floor of the building knocking
(hammering) on items in the hallway (LCD, LN2 tanks, doors, etc.) and
pulling down door signs and throwing them to the floor. In addition, she
was making quite a bit of noise in the first floor lab corridor.
This instance was the third time that this woman had been seen around
the building within the last week. She was seen on Tuesday in the first
floor lobby, Saturday around the rear entrance to the building and
yesterday late afternoon on the first floor of the building. And it is
possible she may return to the building.
Though we do not know who this individual is, nor the reasons for their
behavior, we are concerned that she could induce safety issues, e.g.
opening one of the liquid nitrogen dewars in the hallway, confronting
people in the building, etc.
If you see this person in the building, please call the campus police at
extension 3446 (non-emergency) or 9-911 (emergency). The campus police
has been alerted to this situation and will send officers to our
building once they receive a phone call. Also, please alert myself or
Holly that a call was made.
Regards,
Bob
