Affectiva just closed a round of funding with top-tier investors and 
we're looking to grow our Visioneering team.
Since you run one of the top facial / behavioral analysis groups, I was

COMPUTER VISION SCIENTIST

Join the leaders in emotion recognition and develop emotion analytics

world. Affectiva is looking for a highly talented and motivated Computer 
Vision Scientist to contribute to its suite of emotion algorithms. The 
ideal candidate would have 5 years of exceptional hands-on experience 
in computer vision and/or machine learning. For a hard-core 
computer vision and/or machine learning scientist who wants to take 
research out of the lab and into the real world, this is a dream job!

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will advance our core emotion recognition 
algorithms; choosing discriminative features that represent the data, 
and building a smart machine learning system that yields robust 
and accurate performance. The responsibilities of the Computer Vision 
Scientist include:

·      Research, develop and implement state-of-the-art machine 
learning solutions to the problems of emotion recognition
·      Research, develop and implement meaningful features in the data 
that discriminate a range of emotions

Requirements
We’re looking for a motivated, self-directed and talented professional 
to add to Affectiva’s Science team. Successful candidates for this role 
will have:

·      A Masters/PhD degree in EE/Computer Science with specialization 
in machine learning, computer vision or related areas.
·      Solid background and experience in “large-scale” machine 
learning, noisy data, semi-supervised classification;
·      Excellent programming skills (e.g., MATLAB, C/C++. Python);
·      Expertise in facial / human behavior analysis, tracking and 
classification
·      Industry experience researching and implementing machine 
learning models for real-world data;
·      Commercial software development experience

VISIONEERING LEAD / DIRECTOR

Lead Affectiva’s Science Team and build the leading emotion analytics 
platform powered by the largest repository of emotion data in the world. 
Affectiva is looking for a highly talented and motivated Visioneering 
Leader to contribute to our emotion algorithms and grow and lead 
our visioneering team. The ideal candidate would have 5-7 years of 
exceptional hands-on experience in computer vision and/or machine 
learning, ideally in facial or behavioral analysis and would have 
several years of experience managing a team of engineers / scientists.

Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include:

·      Translate business needs from the executive team to science 
roadmap and tasks
·      Lead the science team including overall prioritization and goal 
setting.
·      Research, develop and implement state-of-the-art computer vision 
and machine learning for emotion classification;
·      Design and contribute to the implementation of Affectiva’s 
Science framework for continual labeling, training and validation of our 
classifiers.

Requirements
We’re looking for a motivated, entrepreneurial and talented professional 
to lead the Affectiva Science team. Successful candidates for this role 
will have:

·      A Masters/PhD degree in EE/Computer Science with specialization 
in machine learning, computer vision or related areas.
·      5-7 years of experience leading a team of engineers / scientists.
·      Experience with agile methodology.
·      Solid background in computer vision, ideally with some expertise 
in facial / human behavior analysis.
·      Solid background and experience in machine learning, especially 
handling big data.
·      Excellent programming skills (e.g., MATLAB, C/C++, Python);
