This would be an interesting project, if some of you want to team up on it.

Subject: Multitouch software development contest

Dear Professor Turk,

I am with SMART Technologies, the maker of the SMART Board interactive
whiteboards.

We are launching a software development contest for multitouch tabletop
surface applications and we would like to invite you and your students at
the University of California, Santa Barbara to participate.

The contest will start in January 2010 and continue until June 2010. The
Grand Prize for the winning application would be a SMART Table ($8,000 USD
value).

The objective of the contest is to create an original, multitouch,
multi-user educational software application. The application has to be
developed using the SMART Table Software Development Kit, which we will
provide to you for free. The SDK supports development in C++ and C#.

You can learn more about the SMART Table multitouch surface by watching this
short video:

http://www.teachertube.com/viewVideo.php?video_id=60804

Please note that you do not need to have a SMART Table in order to take part
in the contest. We will show you how to create a table emulator that enables
you to create a multitouch environment on a regular PC for testing purposes.

Please let me know if there are any questions I can answer, so that you can
decide whether to participate.

Regards,

Georgi Ignatov
