He developed Snow World, a VR video game designed for pain distraction for burn patients during painful procedures such as changing dressings. He has also innovated in VR display technology and has developed games to improve dental hygiene.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Howard will be available to meet from 11:00-noon with those of you who attend the guest lecture and those of you who can’t attend the lecture but can arrive at 11:00 and want to meet then. Howard also served as the co-Principal Investigator and Lead Designer on the Attack of the S. Mutans! Project, a multimillion dollar project aimed at increasing children’s self-efficacy in maintaining dental hygiene. Howard got his start in virtual reality as a graduate researcher at the Human Interface Technology Lab at University of Washington.
