Dear Students,

We are going to have a special workshop on May 12th at 3pm. A
representative from the office of student life will be here to talk about how
to make the most of going to a conference. I will be there as well to
give you additional CS-specific information. You may not think about how
important conferences are, or may just see them as a way to learn about recent
research in your field. However, they are much more than that! They
are a critical way for you to build contacts that you will need in your job search!

This workshop will give you information such as:
- a top 5 list of goals for attending a conference
- how your paper presentation can be the ticket to your next internship or full
time job offer
- how to approach top researchers in your field
- why meeting other students is just as important as meeting top researchers
- why you and your lab mates shouldn't be glued to each other at a conference
- how you and your lab mates can work together to make a good impression on
recruiters

Be there to learn all of this and more!

When: May 12th, 3pm
Where: CS conference room
