Job Description:
Photometria Inc. / TAAZ.com, a San Diego based startup has an internship
position available in Computer Vision / Computer Graphics. Over a three-month
period, you will work with an outstanding group of computer vision researchers
to add new capabilities to the world's best virtual try-on technology. There
are several research and development projects being pursued at
Photometria. Your role will require implementing cutting edge vision and
graphics algorithms to work on images acquired under arbitrary imaging
conditions. The implementation will need to be highly optimized for speed and
efficiency. You could also work on a feature that requires building an image
acquisition system. In a fast paced startup like Photometria, it is
reasonable to expect that the features you develop over summer will be used by
millions of users by fall. Work environment is expected to be fun, challenging,
and very intense, and applicants should be ready to rise to the challenges.

Research Experience
Must be enrolled in an MS or a Ph.D. program in Computer Science/Electrical
Engineering/Mathematics or similar disciplines with emphasis on Computer
Vision. Experience in image based modeling and rendering, computational
photography, automatic image enhancement, and automatic facial feature
enhancement is a big plus. Experience in Computer Graphics and Machine Learning
is desired but not required. Publications in CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NIPS, SIGGRAPH,
ICML or similar conferences will greatly improve your chances of being
selected.

Programming Experience
As part of the internship you would need to read research papers and implement
the algorithms optimized for speed and efficiency. The candidate must have
strong programming experience (preferably in C++) and be adept at quickly
learning new languages (e.g. ActionScript). Excellent command over MATLAB is
desired. Familiarity with libraries like OpenCV, BLAS/ATLAS, GSL etc.
would be very useful.

About Photometria/TAAZ.COM
Photometria, with its flagship web site TAAZ.COM, is the leader in photorealistic virtual makeover
and offers users the opportunity to try on makeup, hair styles and colors,
sunglasses and colored contact lenses on their own photos. Beyond the
millions of visits to taaz.com
each month, Photometria provides licensed virtual makeover technology to
Fortune 500 and Global 1000 Media companies, brands, and retailers. This is a
great opportunity to be part of the growth of a very exciting, dynamic company
based in Sunny San Diego.
