<p>Digital Television:(1) Mobile Broadcast TV, (2) Content

<p>the internet to TV's, and (3) 3D Television. The

<p>cover broadly the technology and business aspects in
these areas. The </p>
<p>status and direction of technology standards development
in these areas </p>
<p>will be presented. These new platforms create new
opportunities for </p>
<p>innovative features, services and business models. Some
recent examples </p>
<p>will be discussed.</p>

<p>Bio:</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Nandhu Nandhakumar is currently SVP Advanced Technology
at LG </p>
<p>Electronics, where he influences corporate business and
technology </p>
<p>strategy related to the access of entertainment and
information content </p>
<p>from network-connected CE devices, 3D entertainment in
the home, and </p>
<p>mobile broadcast television. He leads standards
development activities </p>
<p>in these areas, and is responsible for establishing
strategic business </p>
<p>and technology partnerships. Earlier, Nandhu served as
CTO and VP </p>
<p>Engineering of Triveni Digital, an LG Electronics
company, where he led </p>
<p>the development of products for the management and
monitoring of </p>
<p>metadata and data in DTV signals. These products have
been deployed </p>
<p>globally in broadcast stations, network uplinks and cable
head-ends of </p>
<p>the world's largest media companies. He has also served
on the faculties </p>
<p>of UT Austin and University of Virginia, Charlottesville,
and as </p>
<p>founder/director of the image and video processing group
at LG </p>
<p>Electronics Research Center, Princeton, he led MPEG
standards activities </p>
<p>and technology development for networked multimedia
devices. Nandhu </p>
<p>Nandhakumar has a B.E. in Communications Engineering from
Madras </p>
<p>University, an M.S. in Computer Engineering from the
University of </p>
<p>Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Ph.D. in Electrical
Engineering from UT </p>
<p>Austin. He is a senior member of the IEEE's Consumer Electronics
</p>
<p>Society, member of SMPTE and SCTE, and member of the
Board of Directors </p>
<p>of ATIS and the Coral Consortium.</p>
