Hi Matthew,
I agree with Ismo. The foglab phone is important- my cellphone doesn't work there either (AT&T). Skype is great for outgoing calls, but its good to have a regular number that we can be contacted on.
Furthermore, there are server machines in the foglab that sometimes need manual rebooting. A quick call to the lab has saved me walking over there on many occasions.
I have also used the trailer phone frequently, but if one must go, I feel the foglab phone is more essential.

thanks
-John

2009/10/25 Ismo Rakkolainen <ismo.rakkolainen@tut.fi>

Hi Matthew

I will be out of here in January, but here's my observations.
- My cell phone (T-mobile) does not work in the FogLab, so a land line
helps. I don't know how others' cell phones work there. Skype works,
while on computer.
- As far as I know, phone calls to trailer phone are rare, but they
happen sometimes. I guess most of them could be replaced with cell
phone calls or emails.
