"RANSAC: Estimating Parameters in Presence of Outliers"<br>

ABSTRACT<br>
In this talk I will introduce the problem of estimating the parameters<br>
of a model using a set of measurements corrupted by outilers. After<br>
presenting the limits of traditional least square approaches, I will<br>
introduce RANSAC, an estimation framework that allows to reliably<br>
estimate the parameters of a known model when more than 50% of the<br>
measurements are outliers. The theoretical discussion will be<br>
supported by some practical examples which utilize the RANSAC toolbox<br>
that I developed for Matlab. I will conclude the talk mentioning some<br>
open problems of potential interest to the research community.<o:p></o:p></p>
