We foresee a new generation of experiences driven by machine learning that could revolutionize digital content creation in areas ranging from photography and video, to 3D modeling and animation, to graphic design. Making these tools and experiences a reality will require major research advances. We are looking to hire PhD research and software engineering interns in computer graphics, computer vision, and HCI to advance the state of the art in digital content creation. For research interns, we intend to publish our work in top-tier venues like SIGGRAPH, CVPR, and UIST; ideally, the internship will become the basis for a long-term collaboration along with your PhD adviser. For software engineering interns, we will partner closely with product teams to deliver the technology we create as products or services. So far, our team includes David Salesin (San Francisco), Brian Curless (Seattle), Dominik Kaeser (NYC), and Janne Kontkanen (San Francisco). All three of these offices are in wonderful locations: our Seattle office is right on the waterfront in the hip Fremont district; our NYC office is in Chelsea, a district filled with art galleries and shops; and our San Francisco office is just across the street from the Ferry Terminal in the heart of the Financial District. We hope you will join us! Here’s how to apply:Submit an application for either a Research Intern or a Software Engineering Intern position, depending on whether you are interested in more of a research/publication- or engineering/productization-oriented role.Email synthesis-internships at google.com to let us know you applied. We will be considering applications on a rolling basis, so please apply as early as possible. Thanks!
