Please see the email below about the Center for Spatial Studies’ annual poster session. If you’re doing any work related to spatial analysis (which some of you are!), this is a good opportunity to present a poster and get feedback (including potential collaboration ideas) from people from a range of disciplines. I think anyone who wants to present can – just contact Karen Doehner as described below.

Subject: Reminder, 5/7 deadline for poster submissions, spatial at ucsb.local2018

Greetings,

The Center for Spatial Studies will be hosting its annual spatial at ucsb.local2018 <mailto:spatial at ucsb.local2018> Poster and Plenary Session at Corwin Pavilion on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

This year our theme is Improving Information Accuracy for Extreme Events. Although the session has a theme, we will accept posters on any topic that addresses spatial analysis.

We invite you to participate in this event, either as a poster submitter, or as an attendee to the plenary and viewer of the posters. We will provide lunch, but we request an RSVP for planning purposes.

Poster submitters will be expected to hang their work early in the day and then return during the poster session to eat lunch and explain/discuss their work to the viewers who come from on and off campus.

Our deadline for reserving space for a poster submission is Monday, May 7, and should come directly to me ( <mailto:kdoehner at spatial.ucsb.edu> kdoehner at spatial.ucsb.edu), listing the names of all contributors to the poster.

Our deadline to attend the event is May 25. Please RSVP, indicating if you plan to eat lunch.

Again, posters do not need to address our theme, as we welcome posters on any spatial research topic.

Please distribute this call for posters among your friends and colleagues and plan to join us for the event. For more information, please see <http://spatial.ucsb.edu/2018/local-spatial-search-cfp> http://spatial.ucsb.edu/2018/local-spatial-search-cfp

My best,
Karen
