Hi everyone,
In the spirit of the talk from our last lab meeting about Kaggle
competition I wanted to share in here info about an article that I came
across. It's from Wired and is about new computer vision challenge:

The link to the actual challenge website is in here:
http://xviewdataset.org/
It is run by the Defense Innovation Unit Experimental (DIUx).
The challenge will be about fine grained and low-res object detection from
aerial imagery (with a theme "disaster response"). There will be financial
prizes for the top 5 teams ($100k total) and some non-financial awards for
further places.
Duration will be from March to May.
If we would find couple people to create a team we could try competing. I
think it's going to be a great learning experience.
Let me know if there will be anyone interested.
Best,
Jedrzej (Jacob)
