Subject: Google Seattle call for research interns
To: Raviteja Vemulapalli <ravitejavemu at google.com>

Google Seattle is hiring research interns; if you are a computer vision
researcher and excited about working on image/video understanding,
on-device machine intelligence, computational photography, and
virtual/augmented reality, read on!

We're pushing the limits of what's possible with computer vision technology
in research and products. We encourage publication at top conferences and
build innovative new products. Some products and features in which our
interns played a key role are Jump
<https://www.google.com/get/cardboard/jump/>, Lens Blur
<http://googleresearch.blogspot.com/2014/04/lens-blur-in-new-google-camera-app.html>
, Cardboard Camera

, Google Clips

, Google Photo Tours
<http://google-latlong.blogspot.com/2012/04/visit-global-landmarks-with-photo-tours.html>,
and Ceres <http://ceres-solver.org/>.

Our research efforts at Google Seattle span two major groups; the first is
focused on the Google VR/AR effort <https://vr.google.com/daydream/>, and
the second on machine learning, with a focus on devices, computational
photography and machine perception. Researchers in the imaging and VR/AR
groups include, among others, Sameer Agarwal, Hugues Hoppe, Ricardo Martin,
Dan Goldman, Jason Lawrence, Steve Seitz, Aseem Agarwala, Meg Mitchell, Li
Zhang, Robert Gens, Matthew Brown, Lior Shapira, Raviteja Vemulapalli, and
Yukun Zhu.

The office is perfectly located, right on the water and in the center of
Seattle's fabulous Fremont district. Seattle is full of restaurants and
cafes, in addition to theaters, performance spaces, art museums and
galleries. The pacific northwest is especially amazing over the summer with
endless destinations to hike and camp. In Google itself you’ll get a chance
to work with great people, great technology, while eating too much food and
drinking way too much coffee at our cafes.

If you know of good candidates, please forward this application, and if
this sounds interesting to you, please apply! It's best to apply ASAP, as
internship decisions are made on a rolling basis.

Application instructions:

   1. Apply for research internship here:
   https://careers.google.com/jobs/results/5983769917718528/
   2. If the interviews go well and you proceed to the project matching
stage, you'll receive a Candidate Profile Questionnaire to fill out. On
this questionnaire, please be sure to specify SEATTLE/KIRKLAND as your #1
location preference, list COMPUTER VISION as both your "expertise
   disciplines" and "preferred disciplines".
   3. Finally, email Raviteja Vemulapalli (ravitejavemu at google.com) and Ricardo
Martin Brualla (rmbrualla at google.com) to let us know. This will make
sure that your application gets routed to us.

All the best,
Google AI Seattle
