Subject: Research opening in nonverbal in nonverbal behavior analysis

We have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding recent PhD or Postdoc
here at ICT. The opening is for a Research Scientist (with opportunity to
become Research Assistant Professor in computer science, if the candidate is
so inclined). The position comes with considerable funding and a chance to
help shape the direction of nonverbal research at ICT's virtual human's
group.

We are seeking an expert in the fields of:

- Nonverbal behavior understanding and analyses
- Machine learning with a focus on deep learning
- Multimodal social signal processing

The successful candidate will work directly with me and Stefan Scherer to
develop their own research agenda related to human nonverbal behavior
understanding and analysis. ICT is a leader in virtual humans, emotion and
social behavior research. Beyond collaborating with us there will be
opportunities to leverage ICT's broad research strengths including David
Traum's Natural Language group, Skip Rizzo's Medical VR group, Hao Li's
Graphics Lab, the Mixed Reality Lab, and USC's Center for Body Computing.

The ideal candidate would be able to start as early as the start of the
spring semester. The candidate can assume the position of Research
Scientist (focusing solely on research) or apply for the role of Research
Assistant Professor that will afford the opportunity to advise PhD students
and teach in the CS department at USC.

Please contact us immediately if you are aware of any suitable candidates or
have any additional questions.

Best,

Stefan and Jon
