Subject: [faculty] Power Outage in Elings Hall on Saturday August 19, 6am - 5pm

 

Hi everybody, as you probably know, there will be a power outage in Elings Hall this coming Saturday August 19, in order to connect the new solar panels on top of parking lot 10 to the campus power grid. The outage is scheduled to be from 6am until 5pm. E-power will come online after a brief interruption, and I will have the MAT email server connected to it, so MAT email should be available during this time.

 

However, I will shutdown the other servers on Friday evening between 5-6pm, and bring them back up Sunday morning August 20. This means the MAT web site, and all web sites hosted on MAT servers, will be unavailable during this time. Also impacted will be the MAT email list server, network server, and other non-essential services.

 

Please arrange to have lab computers and equipment powered down on Friday evening. If you need help with that just let me know.
