covering research on search and data mining on the Web.
The Eighth International WSDM Conference will take place in Shanghai, China
during January 31 – February 6, 2015. WSDM publishes original, high-quality
papers related to search and data mining on the Web and the Social Web,
with an emphasis on practical yet principled novel models of search and
data mining, algorithm design and analysis,
economic implications, and in-depth experimental analysis of accuracy and

We are looking forward to your participation! Early registration deadline
is December 19, 2014. ----------------------------------------------- This
year program features a wide range of exciting talks and events. In
addition to the main conference, we are delighted to have keynote talks,
practice and experience talks, workshops, tutorials, and winter school
lectures. These are carefully organized by the WSDM 2015 committees and

 *Winter School Lectures* Winter school aims at promoting research on web
search and data mining, as well as introducing the fundamentals and
advances of related fields:

   - Four distinguished researchers, Jianfeng Gao (Microsoft Research),
   Noah Smith (Carnegie Mellon University), Jure Leskovec (Stanford
   University), and Eric Xing (Carnegie Mellon University) will give lectures.
    - Research topics related to web search and data mining, including deep
   learning, natural language processing, social network, and machine learning
   platform, will be discussed.
    - The winter school will be held at Shanghai Jiaotong University (Shang
   Yuan 500, located at 800 Dongchuan Road) on Jan 31 – Feb 1, 2015
    - Students, researchers, and industry practitioners are welcome to
   attend the winter school. Note that registrations must be made in advance.
   Due to space limitation, we will only accept the first 200 applications.
