I must admit I find this a little humorous.. I'd like to ask everyone who
funded Oculus via Kickstarter and feels betrayed by this, "Well what did you
expect?"

There is an overwhelming amount of negativity coming from the Oculus
community about this deal. Even the people responding via Facebook to
articles about the acquisition are expressing the betrayal they feel. I
personally don't know how to feel about it, either. Being acquired by
another company probably would have been a better move. I mean, Facebook's
demographic has changed-- they aren't attractive to a younger crowd anymore
which was likely to be the driving force of the Oculus in the first place.

Facebook just dished out a casual $2 billion for Oculus VR. This is a huge
splash for AR/VR and it will be really interesting to see what direction
Facebook decides to take Oculus as a platform. Facebook specifically
mentioned they see Oculus as a medium for communication and experience.
