Computer Vision Scientist

As a computer vision scientist you will seek robust solutions to some of the most long-standing recognition problems in machine vision. This role involves extensive research and problem solving that spans a number of areas including computer vision, machine learning, image processing, software engineering, user interaction and product development. Your work will focus on mobile computing, a field which offers unique opportunities as well as unique challenges. You will work collaboratively with a small team that combines research and engineering expertise and you will collaborate with groups across Google to create the next generation of products and solutions that impact millions of users.
Responsibilities
* Improve algorithms for facial analysis (recognition, detection, tracking, expression analysis, landmark localization) emphasizing accuracy and computational performance.
* Customize face analysis algorithms for various mobile and Android products.
* Design and improve computer vision solutions for various mobile and Android products.
* Develop innovative mobile/Android products incorporating computer vision.
Minimum qualifications
* BA/BS in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
* Programming experience in C++ and/or Java.
* Experience solving real-world computer vision, machine learning, or pattern recognition problems.
Preferred qualifications
* Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
* 3 years of work experience in an applied research setting.
* Entrepreneurial experience and a passion for creating great products.
* Strong attention to detail, highly entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent, highly collaborative and passion for, and understanding of Google products.
