Hello Folks,
There is an interesting talk at ESB 2001 on Clustering at large scale.
Here is the abstract, I helped with the food catering, so please join!
*Title:* Clustering at Large Scales
*Abstract: *
Clustering algorithms are at the heart of unsupervised machine learning,
revealing meaningful patterns in unorganized datasets. In recent years, the
explosion of available data in a wide variety of application domains has
presented new opportunities for knowledge discovery. However, the large
scale of this data poses a challenge to traditionally popular but
computationally-intensive clustering algorithms such as spectral
clustering. In this talk, I will give an overview of extensions and
improvements to traditional clustering algorithms for the large-scale
setting, and I will discuss new approaches to clustering that have been
developed for scalability. I will conclude with potential future research
directions.
