Summer internship in Hardware acceleration for computational imaging
The Computational Sensing and Imaging Group within Rambus Labs continues to
develop new classes of optical and infra-red sensors and imagers. We are
seeking a highly qualified signal processing researcher to assist in the
development of new classes of signal processing algorithms and their
implementation in parallel hardware, such as FPGAs and GPUs. This summer
internship affords the opportunity to work with industry leaders, to patent
as well as to publish new mathematics, algorithms and computer architectures
related to our research. Candidates should have the following
qualifications:
* Experience working in a research lab involving simulation tools and
parallel hardware including FPGAs and GPUs
* Enrollment in a graduate degree program lasting through the end of
September 2015
* Knowledge of algorithms in computer vision, image processing and
pattern recognition
* Facility implementing numerically-efficient solutions to imaging and
signal processing problems in Matlab, C/C++ and either Verilog or VHDL
* Demonstrated ability to realize image processing algorithms using
FPGAs
* Strong verbal and mathematical communication skills
* Ability to follow directions as well as work independently
* BS or MS degree in computer science, electrical engineering,
mathematics or a closely-related discipline and current enrollment in a
relevant graduate program or substantial, relevant, outstanding work
experience
* Legal permission to work in the USA
Rambus Inc., is located in Silicon Valley/San Francisco Bay Area, near
cultural centers such as San Jose and San Francisco, academic centers such
as Stanford University and U. C. Berkeley, and many spectacular natural
destinations such as Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe, Big Sur, Marin
Headlands, Sonoma and Napa Valleys.

Summer internship in Lensless microscopy
The Computational Sensing and Imaging Group within Rambus Labs continues to
develop new classes of optical and infra-red sensors and imagers. We are
seeking a highly qualified optics and signal processing researcher to assist
in the exploration of lensless microscopy, primarily through optical
analyses and simulation. This summer internship position affords the
opportunity to work with industry leaders, to patent as well as to publish
new mathematics and algorithms related to our research. Candidates should
have the following qualifications:
* Experience working in a research lab involving optical simulation
and tools such as Zemax
* Enrollment in a graduate degree program lasting through the end of
September 2015
* Knowledge of algorithms used in computational imaging, in particular
lensless microscopy
* Strong simulation expertise and mastery of Matlab, Mathematica, C or
C++
* Strong verbal and mathematical communication skills
* Ability to follow directions as well as work independently
* BS or MS degree in optics, physical optics, electrical engineering,
mathematics or a closely-related discipline and current enrollment in a
relevant graduate program or substantial, relevant, outstanding work
experience
* Legal permission to work in the USA
