Honda Research Institute USA, Inc. in Mountain View, California, has an opening for research and development of multimodal information fusion for driver behavior understanding.
The project goal is to understand driver’s behavior and intention by combining information from vision, speech, and sensor in the car. The candidate will be responsible for using information from these modalities including visual and speech streams (e.g., driver activity monitoring, environment monitoring, speech utterance). He will apply data fusion and inference methods to understand driver behavior to accomplish meaningful interaction between driver and the car. We encourage members of the research staff to contribute new research ideas and to participate in presentations and scientific publications.

Qualifications:

Required:
* A MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Strong background in areas of computer vision, data fusion, probabilistic inference, machine learning, and driver monitoring.
* Excellent skills in C/C++/Java, Linux

Desired:
* Experience with real-time vision systems, e.g., gesture and activity recognition
* Experience in implementing multimodal systems

Duration:
