Dear Partners,

 

I'm excited to announce the 2012 Visualizing Global Marathon
<http://visualizing.org/marathon2012> ! From November 9-11, students around
the world will immerse themselves in the field of data visualization, catch
workshops and presentations from data visualization experts, connect with
students from different cities, and collectively work to solve some of the
world's most complex issues. Students can participate virtually or at one of
our hosted meetups, and we'll be awarding more than $10,000 in prizes. 

 

Registration is now open! Last year, the majority of student participants
heard about the event from their professors, so we would greatly appreciate
if you can spread the word to your students and colleagues. Attached is an
invitation that can be easily forwarded along or posted to a blog/website.
Also, as our Academic Partner <http://www.visualizing.org/partners> , once
your students register, we'll promote your university on the Marathon's
registration page <http://www.visualizing.org/marathon2012/register> . 

 

And it's also not too late to host a meetup. Please contact me for more
information, or if we have already been in contact to finalize details so
that we can open registration.
