The Vision  <http://www.psych.ucsb.edu/research/viu/> & Image Understanding
Laboratory (Eckstein lab) in the Department of Psychological and Brain
Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications
for a position as a post-doctoral researcher psychophysics, computational
modeling, and computer-assisted group perceptual decisions.  This is an
initial one year position with the possibility for renewal annually. The
post-doctoral researcher will also have the opportunity to participate in a
variety of ongoing neuroscience and cognitive neuroscience activities
sponsored by the Sage Center for the Study of the Mind
(http://www.sagecenter.ucsb.edu/). Requirements: The candidate must be a US
citizen.  The successful candidate should have a strong technical background
and a Ph.D. in any of the following: Vision Science, Perceptual Psychology,
Computer Science, Electrical Engineering.  Excellent programming skills
required.  Expertise in one of these three areas:  Machine learning and
optimization techniques or visual psychophysics and computational modeling.
The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to
the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research,
teaching and service.
