Hi everyone,

We're looking for a number of interns here at the Hollywood office of
Nokia Research Center.  I'll hopefully post some more ads soon, but
here is the first one for now looking for a computer vision intern.
When you would come for the internship is quite flexible.

The Evocative Apparitions team at Nokia Research Hollywood is looking
for Computer Vision interns. The position will involve developing
advanced vision and graphics algorithms in C++ for Augmented Reality
applications. We are particularly interested in leveraging Nokia's
access to large amounts of urban data (360 degree panoramas, LIDAR and
aerial imagery). Projects can be tailored to meet your research
experience. We encourage candidates to publish and contribute to
Nokia's product pipeline. This Hollywood lab is carrying out a range
of research activities in the areas of mobile augmented reality
experiences, wearables, and large-scale mobile internet solutions.

Required skills:

• Strong computer vision background in one or more of the following:
image-based modeling and rendering, scene understanding in outdoor or
indoor environments, camera pose tracking, object recognition, and
urban reconstruction from images/LIDAR.
• Ability to integrate different research ideas into working prototype systems.
• Strong C++ development skills on Linux platforms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have:
• Experience with OpenCv, OpenGL, and mobile platforms.
• Publications
• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures for efficient
processing of very large datasets.
