Title: Telecollaboration: Interaction and Interfaces

Abstract:
The need to collaborate and interact at a distance has been a motivating 
factor and driving force for multiple facets of information technology 
research over the last few decades. In this talk I will review, from an 
HCI perspective, how the state of the art goes beyond the now ubiquitous 
videoconferencing, emphasizing in particular the means and degrees of 
immersion, interfaces and collaborative interaction. I will discuss use 
cases, describe and analyze different systems, and finally suggest 
topics for future research in this area, including how my current 
on-going work on visual tracking for augmented reality can contribute to 
this field.
