Hello all,
we're still working on some issues with the website, but we have ready
to add project pages.
Please follow these steps to first create your user account and then
create a page for your website. We can edit the page at any time, but it
would be good if you could add at least a stub ASAP to make sure
everything works as expected.
If you have any questions, please email Jon (jventura at cs.ucsb.edu), John
(jodmail at gmail.com) or me (sgauglitz at cs.ucsb.edu).
=======================================================================
1. create your user account
Go to http://ilab.cs.ucsb.edu/new/foureyes/administrator/
and login using with user name "tempadmin", password "env**or" (guess
the *'s ;) ).
Go to "User Manager", then click "New" and create your own, personal
account (fill in Name, Username, E-Mail, pwd, set "Group" to "Manager").
Click "Apply".
You probably get an error saying "could not connect to SMTP host" but
that's ok, it means it wasn't able to send a confirmation email, but the
account was created.
Log out and log back in with your new account.
=======================================================================
2. create a page for the project you'll be presenting at the open house
Click on "Add New Article" (or "Article Manager" -> "New")
Fill in title and the content, and set Section to "research projects"
and Category to "Current Projects".
Just use basic HTML formatting for now, and don't care about the exact
look -- we are still working on fine-tuning the design via CSS.
To add an image, use the image button *below* the input field, that will
allow you to select an existing image but also upload new images.
Put your images in the folder "projects", or make a sub-folder if you
have several.
Your project should then show up under
http://ilab.cs.ucsb.edu/new/foureyes/ -> "Current Projects"
Again, please add at least a stub asap, and if you have any questions,
please let us know.
Thanks,
Steffen
