Matthew,

I wanted to let you know that we have some internship opportunities 
here in our Augmented reality group at Qualcomm that may be of 
interest to some of your students.

The ideal candidate should have experience in one of the following areas:

Augmented reality
o Experience with hands-on laboratory implementation, verification 
and optimization of augmented reality systems.
o In depth understanding of marker based and Natural feature based AR
systems
o Familiar with coherent rendering techniques for AR
o Familiar with AR user interfaces
o Experience with outdoor AR systems is a plus

Computer vision
o Experience with hands-on laboratory implementation, verification 
and optimization of real -time monocular computer vision systems.
o In depth understanding of state of the art natural feature 
detection and description algorithms like SIFT SURF and FERNS
o In depth understanding of 2D and 3D tracking algorithms
o Experience with SLAM algorithms
o Experience with face detection or OCR is a plus

The position involves design, implementation and evaluation of 
Augmented Reality application (experiences) and/or enabling 
technology. We are looking for MS or PhD students but we will 
consider Exceptional Undergraduate students.
