At noon tomorrow, Cha Lee, Rama Hoetzlein, and
Hong Li will report from the NVidia NVision
conference they all attended two weeks ago:

The meeting room is still to be determined. Stay
tuned (I will send email when it's set)!
Background:
NVidia is putting a lot of effort into pushing
general purpose GPU computing methodology,
especially via their CUDA and Tesla products.

At the same time, Intel and their collaborators have
not been idle and have been pushing their own
GPU approach, Larrabee:

The developments and presentations at NVision must be
seen in the context of Larrabee making a splash at
ACM SIGGRAPH a few weeks ago.
In any case, we think that it will be really nice to
have a session for people in our respective groups (and
anyone else interested) to hear about the highlights
(from the students' various perspectives: graphics and
simulation, media arts, and scientific computing) from
the conference.
Everyone welcome. Bring your own lunch.
Thanks a lot &
Cheers,
Tobias
