Hey folks,
We're getting ready to make some posters for the workshop. We've lined up some really interesting industry guests from Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Sony, HP, and many local companies. Each lab is being asked to send some iconic pictures from current projects (preferrably from submitted abstracts). Our labs got a few submissions, so if you any high res pics of interesting stuff please send them to beta at cs.ucsb.edu.
thanks, Cha Lee> Date: Mon, 11 Aug 2008 14:31:58 -0700> From: betamaz at cs.ucsb.edu> To: chalee21 at cs.ucsb.edu> Subject: RE: UCSB Graduate Student Worshop on Computing Details> > Hi Cha,> > Sure, I'll resend a meeting time request.> > Also, for the logo I'm requesting a couple pix/diagrams from different > labs. We have two available prizes Best Paper ($250) and Best Poster($100). If you make it a donation to the event, then there is no paper work involved and it would be an informal agreement. Making it a sponsorship requires us to fill out some paper work due to university rules. Which ever option you choose is fine, although the donation would be easiest on both ends. What we would do then is advertise it on both the website and at the event as the 'Adobe Best Poster/Paper' award.> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>> Please let me know what you would like done and I'll facilitate it.> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>> thanks,> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>> Cha Lee> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>> Date: Wed, 6 Aug 2008 16:03:19 -0700> >>>> >>> Subject: Re: UCSB Graduate Student Worshop on Computing Details> >>>> >>> From: perkovic at adobe.com> >>>> >>> To: chalee21 at cs.ucsb.edu> >>>> >>> CC: jacobs at adobe.com> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>> Hello Cha,> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>> One of our managers from Adobe?s Advanced Technology Labs, Tom Jacobs (cc-ed), confirmed his attendance at this event. We would like, however, to make a small contribution to this event, in the form of a ?best poster? award or equivalent award to a presenting student. Please let me know what is still available for sponsorship, the amount it would be and what is the process to sponsor it.> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>> Thanks,> >>>> >>> Sara> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>> On 8/5/08 2:24 PM, 'Cha Lee' <chalee21 at cs.ucsb.edu <http://chalee21@cs.ucsb.edu> > wrote:> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>> Hi Sara,> >>>> >>>> >>>> >>> If you're looking to just attend then I just need to know by the end of August whether you'll have a guest speaker with you or not.
